BACKGROUND

Mario had other business ventures where he achieved success, yet he wanted to open a gelato shop in Scottsdale, Arizona. Having grown up in a small town in Southern Italy called Torre del Greco, one of his favorite childhood memories was eating gelato with his family. The gelato in Italy is considerably different than the gelato in America as the gelato in Italy is not pasteurized so you get a pure cream, and this is what Mario wanted to re-create here.

Mario owned a commercial property and he engaged Waters Business Consulting Group to help develop the plan to launch and market the store.

  • Hiring strategy and development of position descriptions to bring on high-quality hires
  • Assisted with developing the website

  • Highly successful opening day with a line down the sidewalk of almost 2,000 people
  • Through PR outreach, the event was attended by a number of media outlets
  • Mario has been in business for over 2 years and is in the process of franchising across Arizona and the Southwest.
